![]() Royal St George’s Golf ClubA true test of championship golf this famous links course was established in 1887 and was granted Royal status by the King in 1902. Measuring 7,100 yards from the championship tees this demanding course has played host to many major tournaments including The Open, PGA championships, Walker and Curtis Cups, British and English Amateur amongst others. The flat terrain and cleverly positioned bunkers makes this course such a stern test of golf particularly when the wind starts to blow. No more so than on the signature 6th hole. This tricky par 3 is closely guarded all round by a series of pot bunkers so accuracy is at a premium. Back to The English Golf Course Directory |
