Spain Golf - Spanish Golf Course Reviews by Golfer Today's Editor - Roger Morton

Costa del Sol - A Golfers Paradise
Our review of 5 Great Golf Courses you must play!

Spain Golf - Spanish Golf Course Reviews

There are so many golf courses now along the Spanish Mediterranean coastline that it is very difficult to know which to play for our first tranche of Spanish golf course reviews.

Other than friends who have played and recommended a particular course you often don't quite know what to expect until you arrive.

Spain Golf - Spanish Golf Course ReviewsThe Spanish golf course reviewed in this article were played in order to provide the golfer with more information should you be planning to golf in the Costa del Sol area. Our visit was in the first week of October and it was quickly apparent why golfers come to play in this part of the world. The weather was simply fantastic! Hot sunny days and warm evenings where you could sit outside wearing the lightest of clothes. Far removed from the chilly climate back in the UK.

You will be pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of these five wonderful golf courses, all within a 20 minute radius of each other, such as heathland, links, tree lined and rolling hillside. The courses varied greatly from the old established course boasting a wonderful history of golfing tournaments played, to the newest course in Spain to host a major professional tournament for the first time, to courses giving value for money and great fun to play, and all offering a very warm welcome.

Bearing in mind that the price of green fees is a major factor when deciding where to play, a link to the web page of each course is provided so that you can go direct and enquire for rates and any offers available, especially if going as a golfing party.

The Spanish golf course reviews listed are in the order that we played them and not in any order of quality or preference.

We stayed in Marina La Duquesa, very central for all of these courses, and all reached within a 15-minute drive. The accommodation used is also reviewed together with a web link so that a complete package can easily be arranged to stay and enjoy your golfing holiday in Costa del Sol.
