![]() How To Play a Fade ShotIf aiming to the right helps to produce a hook, then aiming to the left will help produce a fade. Refer to the photograph, and once again place the club head behind the ball pointing directly towards the target.
Now because of your set up your swing path will be across the ball. Starting with your backswing, the club head will swing on the outside or away from the target line but in the direction that your body is aiming. You will feel more upright and less turned at the top of the back swing than you would on a normal swing. As you swing back down to the ball your club head will swing across the target line but with the club face pointing to the target, and therefore open at impact, slice spin will be imparted to the ball. This set up and action is very similar to the way a bunker shot would be played. So for most golfers it should feel more comfortable to carry out than the more difficult swing to creating draw. Now you should be ready to take up the challenge of moving the ball in both directions, helping to enjoy playing golf even more. Now - Play a Draw Shot ........ |
